Running Sessions
Run Sessions The club meets 5pm every Friday for a run from Welron Road, just off the Great Western Way. This run is regularly attended by club members and conveniently is followed by the 6-7pm sport yoga session (booked separately). The Friday runs are usually a steady, consistent pace. Sometimes we add in various intervals round the lap, but regroup after each one to keep everyone together. The lap is aout 5 miles, usually run in 5-4 minutes.
Winter Trail Runs Keep an eye on the Facebook group for details of our easy, lead trail runs. The pace will be relaxed and social - there will definitely be some uphill walking involved! The idea of these is that they be nice steady aerobic runs to build up strength and endurance over the winter. No threshold training here, Wednesday nights are for that sort of thing!!
Club members also join the timed 5k “Park Run” which happens every Saturday at 09:00 at Lydiard Park, Lydiard Tregoze, Swindon SN5 3PA. Register on line at www.parkrun.org.uk/swindon/ and ensure you select “Swindon Triathlon Club” under “select club” when filling in your details.
